What is the difference between face-lit, back-lit, and face & back-lit channel letters?
Face-lit channel letters feature illuminated acrylic faces that allow light to shine directly through the front of the letters. They provide bright, high-visibility illumination and are a popular choice for storefronts, retail stores, restaurants, and commercial buildings where maximum visibility is important.
Back-lit channel letters (also called halo-lit letters) use LED modules inside the letters to project light onto the wall behind them, creating a soft halo glow around each letter. This style delivers a premium, elegant appearance and is commonly used for luxury brands, hotels, offices, and architectural signage.
Face & back-lit channel letters combine both front illumination and halo backlighting. The acrylic face provides bright, direct lighting, while the back of the letters creates a soft glow effect on the mounting surface. This dual-lighting design offers enhanced visibility with a more distinctive and high-end appearance, making it ideal for premium storefronts, shopping centers, restaurants, and branded commercial spaces.
